Following the First Minister's address to the SNP Conference, Liberal Democrat Finance spokesperson Jeremy Purvis MSP said:
"The First Minister prefers posturing to taking real action.
"I'm disappointed that Alex Salmond failed to use the powers that he already has in Scotland to take real action to help people, families and businesses struggling with the economic downturn.
"Instead of calling on Westminster to help, he should be backing the Liberal Democrat campaign to put money back into working people's pockets by cutting income tax by two pence."
